Based on real life experience, the Hyundai ix35 2009 2.0 4WD timing chain change interval is approximately 180,000 km as at this mileage it may become overstretched and require replacement, so it is recommended to check the condition of the chain periodically after this mileage is reached and replace the timing chain if it becomes excessively
Timing chains can have their own problems and be more costly to fix when they do have issues. But generally you'll audibly hear the issues and have time to address it, unlike a belt that'll just snap one day if you go past the replacement interval.

#1 · Apr 29, 2020 Hi. Does anyone know where to look for i40 timing chain replace intervals? Or can share their experience. I tried the manual and also googling but couldn't really see a specific time/milage. It's i40 2013 1.7 100kw if that changes anything. By Vlad Samarin Updated December 3, 2023 Timing chain. When it comes to your car's timing chain, the rule is simple: it doesn't need replacing unless it's causing trouble. But, like any mechanical part, it's not immune to wear and tear. High-mileage vehicles are particularly susceptible to timing chain issues.
